The New Marlborough Police Department in Massachusetts is asking for the public’s help locating the owner of a dog left tied to a post in freezing conditions outside the local town house.
The friendly dog was found Wednesday afternoon on December 10th tethered outside the New Marlborough Town Meeting House.

Prolonged exposure to freezing temperatures without food, water or shelter is dangerous and can result in hypothermia or frostbite. Most dogs and cats, especially those with thinner coats, should not be exposed to freezing temperatures for more than 10-15 minutes without access to a warmer space.
Leaving a pet in such conditions can lead to animal cruelty charges and penalties for owners. It is illegal to abandon a pet.
Any help identifying the dog or owner would be greatly appreciated. Please call 413.347.2997.
