At the Tehama County Animal Care Center in Red Bluff, California, a poor pup named Hawkeye really could use a friend. It had been the shelter who wrote that Hawkeye looked like he lost a fight with a beehive, but the swelling on his face was caused by an infection that has prevented his lymph system from draining properly.

Poor pup swelled up like a balloon, but he is now on antibiotics and the obvious discomfort of the swelling is beginning to subside, and he is expected to recover. He does look like a Doberman pinscher and according to staff remarks, Hawkeye is friendly.

We some extra special dogs needing some extra TLC! These dogs aren’t quite ready for adoption yet and need foster homes to help them get there. Celia recently had surgery, Waternoose is waiting for surgery, Hawkeye is recovering from an infection, and these puppies need to grow a little more. Interested in helping foster one of these special sweethearts? Give us a call! 530-527-3439.

Hawkeye is underweight and of course, would be happier in a home. And please let’s not forget this shelter, like most of the other shelters throughout the United States are overcrowded. Please share his plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.
