A two-year-old tiny white poodle, weighing only 10 pounds, needs the help of a rescue partner immediately. Her story is heartbreaking, and whoever is responsible for such animal cruelty hopefully will be apprehended and punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Meet Bonnie (#A536557) who is currently in the care of the City of San Bernardino Animal Services. According to volunteers at the shelter, a witness saw the tiny dog being attacked by a large dog. The Good Samaritan ran to help, but as he approached, the owner of the large dog drove away with his dog and left Bonnie to suffer from her injuries on the side of the road.

The witness noticed the poodle’s muzzle had been tied shut, and tried to help. He drove to a feed store to purchase medicine, but soon realized he did not have the funds to take the dog to a veterinarian for proper treatment. Instead, he brought the dog to the shelter for help.

The veterinarian for the shelter removed the embedded hair tie, cleaned the wound and sent Bonnie back to the shelter with antibiotics and pain medicine. She is now available to be rescued.
