Houston Pets Alive! has shared heartbreaking photos of the most severe case of malnutrition and starvation ever to enter their rescue organization. They have asked for the public’s help finding the person(s) who owned this dog.
According to a news release on Tuesday, a passerby spotted the emaciated dog on the side of the road and took him to a nearby shelter that notified Houston Pets Alive! for help.
Dobby arrived at Houston Pets Alive! with the most severe case of malnutrition/starvation ever witnessed at our facility.

In addition, the rescue added that Dobby’s condition remains heart-wrenching. He is emaciated, weak, and struggles to stand. He survived the first night; his weight on intake was only 12 pounds which is half of what he normal weight should have been.
Dobby is such a sweet dog who loves people and has such a positive attitude – he really does deserve a second chance.

The popular rescue organization is also asking for the public’s help caring for Dobby who is currently receiving round-the-clock care. At this time, his prognosis is guarded, but he is expected to need months of expensive rehabilitation and care.
