The Lexington Humane Society rescued a terribly neglected dog dubbed Charlie Brown. The dog was found tied behind a building starving and freezing to death on March 25, 2023 behind a building on Pimlico Parkway.

As to Charlie’s physical condition using a scale of 5, staff veterinarian scored him a 0.5. In his short life, Charlie hasn’t had anyone who cared about him. Now he is in need of emergency help.

Along with Charlie, last week 30 chihuahuas were rescued by the organization’s partner, Lexington-Fayette Animal Care & Control. In addition, another severely neglected dog was rescued, however despite the best efforts from the organization’s veterinarian staff, that dog did not survive.

Charlie Brown is now receiving life-saving treatment, and even though he is sick and emaciated, he continues to fight through his condition and has a strong will to live.

It will take some time before Charlie Brown is well enough to be placed available for adoption.
