Zeek is safe.
Zeek’s story has been shared more than 150 times, yet no one has offered to either foster or adopt him. The ACCT Philly in Philadelphia has “time stamped” Zeek for his final day.
According to volunteers, Zeek is a good dog, but his plight, like so many other good dogs is urgent; there are just too many dogs needing help and not enough space. Therefore the dogs who have been at the shelter the longest are scheduled for euthanasia.
Zeek was brought to the shelter as a stray on April 21st. The person who said that they found him said he found his way into their yard and allegedly bit the finder after he got into a mild scuffle with their dog(he’s since had multiple amazing dog meets with various dogs including drop leash so we aren’t sure about the circumstances. )

When Zeek arrived at the shelter that day, he seemed comfortable with the person who found him, but very scared of everyone else. The alleged bite did not break the skin, nor were there photos of any marks, and they described him as being very calm while in their care.
Zeek is a sweet dog who is ready to be someone’s best friend. He has had multiple dog meets including drop leash meets (where both dogs have the leashes dropped and can play in the play yard) and did well with both male and female dogs, both large and small. During meets he appears fine with sharing attention and items as well. He walks well on a leash and has not shown any signs of resource guarding even with high value treats and items.
Zeek is a wonderful dog who needs a home with another dog to help him get better about being left for longer periods of time. He’s incredibly tolerant and sweet and is hoping someone will give him the chance he deserves.

I wish I was not so far away….. I would take him in a heartbeat……. I hope someone local will open up their heart and home for this precious treasure. He deserves to be part of a loving furever family for his entire life!!!
