Frightened tiny Maltese listed on euth’ list because she bit person who tried to catch her as stray

Penny is facing an end of life situation at the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter for a puzzling reason. On September 29, 2023, this one-year-old Maltese arrived at the shelter as a stray. No one knows why she is so fearful, but this 10-pound dog is available at the shelter as “rescue only” because of her fear and bite incident. She apparently bit the person who was trying to catch her; obviously she has been traumatized and stressed.

Penny is currently on the euthanasia list. Sadly she has a microchip; her owners were notified and have never shown up at the shelter to reclaim her.

If you are my owner, you must physically come to the shelter to claim me. We are located at 333 Chandler Place, San Bernardino, CA 92408. Our Lost & Found hours are Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am to 5 pm.

    THE WORLD IS BECOMING MORE AND MORE INSANE! IF A HUMAN ACTED THIS WAY, WE WOULD UNDERSTAND IT WAS DONE OUT OF FEAR OR SELF-DEFENSE!

    SINCE WHEN DO WE KILL THOSE AFRAID AND PROTECTING THEMSELVES!

    WE MUST GET THIS TINY TERRIFIED SWEETHEART INTO A LOVING PLACE!
