Couch potato needs a hero and sadly the shelter is full and her life is soon to be snuffed out

In San Antonio, Texas, a ten-year-old lovable couch potato is desperately hoping someone will adopt her and give her the home she so deserves.

No doubt, Shelly is just about perfect, and we can only hope that her description below and her pretty photos will help her find a home soon. Here is what the shelter volunteers at San Antonio Animal Care Services have to say:

shelly has had a ‘ruff’ time of it lately, but don’t let this girl’s exterior fool you. Shelly is a beautiful butterfly waiting to emerge from her coccoon.

this girl walks well on a leash, does her ‘business’ outside, loves going on long walks and just adores getting pets and affection.

I am a spayed female, gray American Staffordshire Terrier.

The shelter staff think I am about 10 years old.

I have a possible foster waiting for me, but you may still submit an application to adopt or place a confirmed rescue hold.

I was found and am I currently at San Antonio Animal Care Services. If you still believe you may be my owner please make arrangements to pick me up as soon as possible by 2pm on 11/13/2023. I will need confirmed adoption, foster or rescue placement by 10 am on 11/14/2023.

Shelly has no teeth and is currently being treated by the shelter staff for kennel cough. She is noted to be fine with other dogs. She is heartworm positive, but that condition is treatable.
