Just about a week ago, welcoming in 2023, Tucker found his new home after having spent more than 700 days and nights in an animal shelter in South Carolina.
According to All About Animals Rescue and Transport, Tucker arrived in January 2021 after he was found severely abused and neglected. When he arrived at the rescue he suffered from cigarette burns all over his body as well as knife wounds on his back.
We first found Tucker on Jan 15th, 2021. He had been found wondering, starved, full of infection and looked to have been skinned on his whole back or something poured or burned. We immediately had him sent to the vet. He was there for over a week and had extensive treatments, shots, fluids, antibiotics and so forth. He was then brought to Conway to his foster. He had to heal which took a long time… He is fearful of strange places but is wonderful in his fosters home. He is a beautiful Caramel color and has a very loving spirit. He wants to be your best friend. He does great with other dogs and even loves cats. He is also crate trained if needed. He does need leash work and he is a strong dog. A fenced yard would be great. We will sponsor his fee for the perfect home, but must pass app, home check and Tucker’s approval.

In December 2022, the rescue organization posted a plea on their social media asking everyone to help find a permanent home for Tucker; maybe the sweet boy could be home for the holidays? And it was on January 2, 2023 that Tucker had found his new family and left to go to his new home.
And yes, it was both a tearful and happy occasion watching Tucker leave, but we all wish this beautiful pup and his new family the absolute best of everything for long lives, health and happiness.
