In the outskirts of Georgia, a very pregnant dog had been abandoned by her owner – most likely intentionally. She desperately needed to find a safe place to have her puppies. The overwhelming heat of the afternoon sun drove her to hide underneath a truck at a house nearby, and that was where she gave birth to 10 puppies.

For weeks, the owners of the home tried their best to help. They left food out for the mother dog after she carefully hid her defenseless little ones in the woods. And as the puppies started to get older and of course curiously started to wander about, tragedy occurred. The mother dog and two of her puppies were accidentally run over by a vehicle in a nearby driveway.

That’s when Angels Among Us Pet Rescue received the call asking for help. Although it was too late for the mother dog and two of the puppies, there was hope for the rest of the litter.

They are the HOPE litter, because so far these eight pups survived. They survived their outdoor birth. They survived the brutal Georgia heat. They survived the car accident.

They are the HOPE litter, because we hope we can raise the funds for their vet care.

They are covered in more fleas than you could ever count. Their belly skin is cracked and bleeding from the flea bites. We hope under that flea infestation they are healthy.

They are the HOPE litter, because in a month where it is raining puppies we found foster homes. We hope their story will move other Atlanta area dog lovers to become foster families.

They are the HOPE litter, because we hope to change their lives forever by becoming Angels

And now it’s partially us to everyone who can help support these puppies until it is time when they can find loving families of their own. These survivors are among the lucky ones – we always need success stories to carry on.
