At the Los Angeles Animal Shelter, a greyhound with a microchip may no longer be wanted by his family. It seems that King had been hit by a car, and when the shelter contacted his owner, they said “they might not come for him.”

TikTok user @punk213k shared two of King’s videos, and when you watch them, it’s easy to see just how sweet King is, and makes many of us wonder out loud how anyone wouldn’t want to rush to shelter to get our dog back if he had been lost or injured.

It is very disappointing to even think King’s family would leave him at a shelter, but we are thankful that kindness from volunteers like Carlos Gonzales give so freely of themselves to be the voices for those who cannot speak.

One can see how much King wants to be home, and fortunately Carlos’ kindness helps the sweet dog cope with his emotional and physical challenges. And if his owners decide not to reunite with King, we hope a new person will come into his life and make him feel loved.
