Georgia – On October 7, a K9 with the Georgia State Patrol agency was killed in the line of duty. K9 Figo was shot by a murder suspect who had fled into the woods in Clayton County. When the suspect opened fire on Figo, troopers and deputies returned fire, killing the man, who has been identified as 33-year-old Dexton Bolden of Jonesboro, Georgia,
The authorities were able to get Figo into a helicopter for transport to an emergency veterinarian in Sandy Springs, but his injuries proved to be fatal.
On Monday, K9 Figo was laid to rest after a procession including dozens of members of law enforcement. Rest in peace Figo.
