At the Dallas Dog – Rescue.Rehab.Reform, an underweight three-year-old bulldog was rescued just in time on Wednesday afternoon. The post at the shelter read “Rescue Foster-Euth Risk” and the young dog whose body condition had been rated as a “3” out of “9” had been surrendered by her breeder on Monday.

She was surrendered by her breeder. I dare NOT say family. She was thrown away like TRASH. She was their money maker breeder time and time again making puppies for CASH.

Sadly, this is too often the story of backyard breeder dogs. When these people turned her in, they said they couldn’t afford her medical care.

Today I was shared her story and immediately said WE WILL SAVE HER!!!

I named her Rissie is a sweet name with a little sass!

Her nipples sag like no nipples I have seen she was sucked dry by her many litters.

I am so filled with mixed emotions, I am angry, heartbroken and just in awe of Rizzi ! She is still showing so much resilience!! She is overwhelmed at the shelter and was scheduled to be euthanized!!!

Rissie is on her way to the organization’s partner veterinarian. Last night she slept soundly on the couch – that first night of peace, safety and soft words meant so much to this sweet dog who will never suffer at the hands of greedy people again.
