In the Rio Grande Valley located very close to the Texas border, dogs are constantly abandoned and left to scavenge for food and shelter on their own. Perhaps that is a better fate than this poor soul, whose home was a ditch at the end of his owner’s property. His life had been filled with misery; heavily infected with ticks and fleas, there was no relief from the constant itching and pain.

He’s too filthy and disgusting to be any closer. Day in. Day out. He lays there alone in misery. A little tether eternally damning him to this patch of dirt. This boy desperately needs a rescue and foster! This is where you see him alive. This is where you will see him dead.

Animal advocate and rescuer, Leslie Hennings received the photos and information from a Good Samaritan begging for help saving the dog. She would be working with the dog’s owner to surrender him if help could be secured. That is when Hennings posted the dog’s plight on social media asking for help from an approved rescue organization and donations to help.

After hundreds of shares and hundreds of comments, Houston K-911 Rescue stepped forward.

Houston K911 Rescue is a 501(c)(3) org. with a mission to address the urgent crisis of Houston’s animal overpopulation by rescuing street dogs in danger.
