In a heartbreaking video out of Ukraine, a German shepherd hid in a ditch guarding the body of his dead owner, showed the sheer brutality of Russian soldiers gunning down civilians just trying to escape the constant bullets, rockets and bombardment in their journeys to safety.

According to the New York Post, video footage posted on Twitter from @Bocco110 revealed a man driving a minivan with his two dogs being attacked by gunfire – one of the dog’s could be heard crying in pain. The person videoing then panned over to another innocent civilian lying in the middle of the road near the capital Kyiv.

Russian soldiers have killed Ukrainian civilians and nearly all of their dogs. It’s very important to document all of Russia’s war crimes in Ukraine.

Also appearing were more heartbreaking photos with dogs left behind, but certainly not forgotten.

…scores of dogs tied up by their leads with notes attached, at train and bus stations throughout Ukraine, as their owners have had to leave without their treasured pets.

There have been many videos and photos of Ukrainians taking their pets with them as they shelter from attack using subway stations and basements. The owner of a cat cafe in Lviv decided to stay because he felt a responsibility towards the 20 cats he has been fostering.

Important about the rescue of closed animals in apartments! With the beginning of the war from Ukraine, 1.2 million people left. And, unfortunately, for one reason or another, many pets have been left alone in closed homes. If you heard or know that your neighbors left and stayed at home with a tail, then follow this algorithm of actions:

door can be knocked out (use a screwdriver/knock/seater).

Cut food (e.g. sausage) into thin long parts and push through the hole.

dry feed can also be sprinkled through the lid using a tube (made from cut plastic bottle/cardboard etc)

with a syringe pour water through a broken eyelid (animal will slip). Water is also possible and should be poured through the drainage pipe from the boiler (you may have leftovers). You can still use a drip tube with a syringe.

if you agree with the owner of the apartment, you can drill a hole in the wall of the apartment so that the animal can appear and reach the food (can you get it)

These are the emergency measures of aid during the war. Please share as much as possible!

Poland, Romania and Slovakia are allowing Ukrainians to bring their pets without veterinary paperwork.
