Earlier this week, a cat was hurled out of a car window in the parking lot of a Tennessee animal shelter. According to WJHL News, the cat bolted after being tossed from the car and it took five shelter employees to capture her.

Shelter Director Tammy Davis told the news agency:

The cat was obviously scared and confused. It ran under the animal control truck and then darted around the parking lot before finally going under a car.

The shelter named the three-year-old cat Evie, for “Living One.” Evie was too traumatized to eat at first, but she seems to be settling in. The shelter is working with the authorities to find the people who cruelly abandoned her.
