Tampa, FL – A homeless dog has managed to remain hopeful despite his terrible past and months of being unwanted at an open-intake animal control facility in Tampa. His name is Thunder and prior to being taken in at Hillsborough County Pet Resources, he lived with someone who kept him outside, either in a shed or on a tether. Notes on the Rescue Me Tampa Facebook page explain:

April 2019 reports that he was locked in a shed and/or tethered. Acos went out there and educated owners. October 2021 reported him being “chained in the overgrown backyard and sporadically cared for,” then in December 2021 (notes) that he was “thin. lethargic and could barely stand up.”

Though difficult to imagine, Thunder’s best life so far is living at the animal ahelter. But this is not a home, and because the facility is open-intake, space constraints can result in dogs being put down when there is no room available.

Please share Thunder’s adoption information. This sweet boy deserves to know what it means to be loved and cared for, and what life can be like in an actual HOME.
