An unwanted dog’s heartbreak – over 7 months with no interest

Sadness and despair have crept into the heart of a young dog who has been languishing in an Indiana shelter for nearly a year. According to the Dubois County Humane Society, Addison has had seven months at the shelter with ZERO interest.

It’s hard to imagine that nobody could see this young dog’s potential, but apparently, that is the sad reality. The animal welfare agency said:

Addison has gone seven months without any interest. Seven months without a family that loves her.
“Abandonment is very stressful, confusing, challenging, scary, and heartbreaking all at once.”
Addison has gone through all of these emotions.
It’s Addison’s turn. She needs a family.

The shelter is searching for an adopter with no young children, no cats and no small dogs. From Addison’s adoption profile:

This girl loves snacks and takes them gently. She loves playing ball and is quite the athlete but she also has a lazy side to her. She is quite strong and needs an owner who can keep her life a bit more structured. A fenced in yard would be ideal for her.
