Video shows man pull small dog in doggy bag out of car and shoot it

In a security video, a man was shown stopping his vehicle in the industrial area of LaMirada, taking a small dog out of the back seat in a doggy bag, placing it in the gutter and then shooting the dog twice and left it to die.

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, the disturbing event occurred on Sunday afternoon. Police are now asking for help finding the people responsible calling it one of the worst cases of animal cruelty caught on camera.

The video showed a distinctive white Grand Cherokee Jeep with black rims making a U-turn on Phoebe Avenue. The suspects pulled over, the man got out of the vehicle and from the back seat pulled a dog in a doggy bag. He then shot the dog twice. A woman driving the vehicle then sped away.

An eyewitness was heartbroken and after hearing the shots and seeing the vehicle speed off, went to the scene and discovered an old dog – possibly 15 or 16-years-old shot twice.

Detectives believe the suspects are the dog’s owners.

The agency urged anyone with information to contact Detective Mark Christiansen with the Sheriff Department’s Norwalk station at 562-466-5419 or

The video is expected to be released soon.
