In Mt. Juliet, Tennessee, a family’s senior dog is recovering after he was stabbed six times by a Metro police officer who said he was protecting his own dog.
According to CbsNews, the dog was found lying in a pool of blood in the Trailwood Farms area. The 13-year-old dog, Cami, apparently escaped from his home on the morning of January 17. A couple, walking their own dog, found Cami.
“When I got there he had multiple contusions. It was bleeding a lot. He was in rough shape,” the neighbor stated. “I think if he had stayed there another 30 minutes he probably would have bled out.”
A video from a nearby Ring doorbell went viral online. The officer who is alleged to have stabbed Cami stated the dog had attacked his dog. He said he tried to keep the dogs apart, and that Cami had bitten his dog on the back of its neck; he was protecting his dog’s life.
Tommy Jacobs, the owner of Cami states the video showed a different story. The officer’s dog had been standing behind him when he stabbed Cami. And then the officer walked away with his dog. Residents in the area stated the officer never even returned to check on the injured dog.
A report has been filed with the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office, although Cami’s owner would need to prosecute if they feel the officer used excessive force. Cami is recovering ; the family is considering filing charges in order to prosecute.

VERY GLAD THE DOGS ARE OKAY, BUT STABBING SIX TIMES

I COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND PROTECTING YOUR DOG, BUT
THIS WAS EXCESSIVE AND “OVER THE TOP”!
SO GRATEFUL THE DOG THAT WAS STABBED WILL RECOVER!
THAT IS TRULY A MIRACLE!
If for nothing else, that officer should be nailed for animal cruelty. He inflicted deadly wounds on the dog, then didn’t even call in the incident. Just left the dog to suffer, bleeding out, all alone. And I wouldn’t just be “considering” filing charges if he were my dog, especially since there is video evidence of what is the truth!
