In Laredo, Texas, a frantic puppy tried to put “his brakes on” as he looked back at his family while a staff member at the shelter dragged him away.

In a heartbreaking video on Saturday, posted on the Laredo, TX Dogs Begging for Help, the surrendered nine-month-old Boxer  had been loving and friendly when he arrived at the shelter. His family surrendered their grandfather’s dog because they were moving. Sadly it didn’t take long for the astute pooch to realize this wasn’t a good place to be left behind.

Check out his heartbreaking video:

All dogs are required to stay for a three-day-hold period (not including weekends) before any adoption or rescue offer will be accepted. At that time, he will be assessed for behavior. It is hoped an adoption offer can be realized quickly – this dog can be euthanized at anytime beyond that date.

The address for the Laredo shelter is 5202 Maher Avenue and the number is 956-625-1860. The shelter opens on Monday at 8:00 am. Please ask for Amanda or Jessica when you call. The shelter may not tell you anything on Monday; they will not do any Snap testing (needed for any dog to exit the shelter) before Thursday, which is the first day he will be released from hold.

Share this puppy’s plight with approved rescue organizations, friends, family and social media contacts. Sharing saves lives.

  1. With family like this, who needs enemies???
My heart is breaking for him, he is so sad…….. Poor precious treasure knows that he is not wanted……. he is still a puppy….. there has to be someone local who can open their heart and home for him……

When we move, so do our critters…… This is beyond disgusting. I can’t believe the cruelty…… My husband and I have moved multiple times with our precious little treasures aka furbabies. Each time we pack our stuff and their stuff into the same boxes and everyone gets into their travel crates with toys and goodies.

“Owwah-wowah-woo” is a huge hit with the canine set & they sing it for most of the drive…….

NEVER would we move into a home where our furbabies couldn’t be with us…….
