In a disturbing case of animal cruelty in Montgomery County, Texas, authorities are searching for the person(s) responsible for abandoning a dog on the side of the road with layers of electrical tape wrapped around her nose and jaw. According to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office press release on their Facebook page, the tape had been on the dog’s snout for an extended period of time and had caused severe injuries.
The mix-breed hound dog, now named Justice, was brought to the Montgomery County Animal Shelter on Friday. The dog was found by a Good Samaritan in the area of Old Texaco Camp Road in East Montgomery County. Justice is currently in the care of Saving Animals From Euthanasia House Rescue in Willis where she is expected to face a long recovery ahead of her. According to Cw39News, at the shelter where Justice is slowly recovering, S.A.F.E. Animal Shelter’s Aaron Johnson stated:
“… Anyone who would do this to Man’s best friend probably won’t stop there. We encourage people anytime that they know of any of this kind of stuff or they hear about any of this kind of stuff to let law enforcement know or let animal control agencies know so they can follow up on those types of things. And just make sure that people are taking care of their animals the way they should be.”
