In Ooralea, Australia, local resident Carrie Ison had been asleep in her Maykby Diva Drive home last Saturday when an unknown heartless animal abuser entered her backyard where her tiny Pomeranian’s throat had been slit from side to side. According to Carrie’s Facebook page, her veterinarian has since confirmed it had been an intentional act inflicted by a person.
The Pomeranian, named Chewy has miraculously survived and continues to undergo treatment. Carrie stated the disturbing incident occurred in the late hours of the night or very early on Sunday morning. She now wants to warn all of her neighbors as well as the entire community reminding everyone – that no matter how safe you might think your fenced-in yard is for your pet, just don’t take the risk and keep them inside.
“I’m being asked to inform everyone in the Ooralea area in Mackay of hat’s happened. My dog was hurt on Saturday night/Sunday morning; his head was basically slashed from left to right,” Carrie wrote on her Facebook. “I have had multiple vets tell me that in their professional opinion this was not created by another dog or animal. I have been absolutely beside myself not knowing what’s happened.”
“Keep your little dogs/cats inside at night. Thanks to Better Pet Vets for taking care of my boy and getting him back on his feet.”
Anyone with information about this apparent act of animal cruelty is asked to contact local police. Help Chewy find some justice. Get well soon little pup.
