In Ooralea, Australia, local resident Carrie Ison had been asleep in her Maykby Diva Drive home last Saturday when an unknown heartless animal abuser entered her backyard where her tiny Pomeranian’s throat had been slit from side to side. According to Carrie’s Facebook page, her veterinarian has since confirmed it had been an intentional act inflicted by a person.

The Pomeranian, named Chewy has miraculously survived and continues to undergo treatment. Carrie stated the disturbing incident occurred in  the late hours of the night or very early on Sunday morning. She now wants to warn all of her neighbors as well as the entire community reminding everyone – that no matter how safe you might think your fenced-in yard is for your pet, just don’t take the risk and keep them inside.

“I’m being asked to inform everyone in the Ooralea area in Mackay of hat’s happened. My dog was hurt on Saturday night/Sunday morning; his head was basically slashed from left to right,” Carrie wrote on her Facebook. “I have had multiple vets tell me that in their professional opinion this was not created by another dog or animal. I have been absolutely beside myself not knowing what’s happened.”

“Keep your little dogs/cats inside at night. Thanks to Better Pet Vets for taking care of my boy and getting him back on his feet.”

Anyone with information about this apparent act of animal cruelty is asked to contact local police. Help Chewy find some justice. Get well soon little pup.

Carrie Ison is VERY lucky Chewy survived – NEVER leave your dogs out at night – they belong in the house and this is an excellent example of why – I hope she has wised up and Chewy is in the house at night AND being watched during the day when outside – there are way too many aholes out there.

Why was her POMERANIAN left outside ALONE all night in the first place???????????????????

I’m not blaming the owner because it’s the fault of the heartless POS who did this, probably a neighbor who might have been annoyed by the dog.

But there is no reason in the world to leave your pets unattended , especially THAT BREED, or any breed, that’s meant to be a companion and kept in the house with you! What in the world is this person doing with such a dog if she won’t take proper care of him?

I hope they find this monster and put him behind bars for years.

hi I totally agree with you. I have a doggie door 24/7 for my dogs. I crate my 2 papillons at night, so they won’t go outside, my dobe is ok, but he comes back in all the time.

Literally, NEVER LEAVE YOUR DOGS UNATTENDED OUTSIDE. Small, big, does not really matter. Their are crazy people who STEAL dogs, crackheads who kill dogs, do people not understand REALITY? Oh beside that, wildlife that will harm animals, including any wildlife that has become rabidly. The lady below with the doggy door, well she’s a braver woman than me. Where I live, between the crack heads, racoons, & mountain cats, that’s also just asking for trouble.

There are too many monsters out there just waiting to hurt your pet to ever think they are safe in their fenced in yard (especially overnight). I’m glad Chewy will be ok, and truly hope they find the POS that did this!

Who would leave a dog alone in the yard while they sleep? Especially a tiny dog like this. My dogs sleep ON my bed WITH me, and are never outside except when I can watch them. This dog is lucky – it survived, but the situation could have been much worse. I hope they find the monster(s) responsible, but I think someone needs to explain to the owner that a dog belongs in the house at night, and not left alone in the yard.

I don’t know why would anyone leave their pets outside especially outside where anyone can get to them, fence or no fence.

Duh! It took Chewy to have her throat cut for the owner to realize don’t leave your pets outside. Had she done this from the get go this never would have happened. Glad Chewy survived.

Dear God, What is wrong with so many people in this world today? and how cowardly an act! Sneaking in and slitting a tiny dog’s throat just proves that demons walk among us. Guard your pets! and prayers to keep homeless animals safe from harm or better yet, let them all find good homes. I guess I can dream :).

As if this story wasn’t bad enough, I scroll down only to see NUMEROUS stories of disgusting and unimaginable cruel acts that have been inflicted on so many dogs, cats and other animals. There are so many sick people in this world and unless we demand immediate change, and action for those committing these heinous crimes these poor animals will continue to suffer. Nothing changes, if nothing changes.

I agree with you. There should be immediate and severe punishment for anyone who intentionally harms other living beings (human or animal)….. AND no “pass” due to “mental illness”…… sorry excuse and the victims are still harmed…..

So many of you are ready to blame the owner of Chewy, I have 3 dogs, one a pom chi that sleeps with me ALL my dogs are in side dogs, now 2 men broke into my mothers home years ago and MY poodle (12 yrs old) protected my sleeping mother, they kicked my dog so bad broke all his ribs and shredded his lungs. I had him since he was 6 weeks old, the police say he saved my mother ( they were arrested with weapons) my dog died, How many of you will say just having a dog is putting the dog in danger. We LOVE our pets dogs cats ALL pets and most people would do anything for their pet and some do with out so their pet is well cared for. There are rotten people who hurt animals don’t go after the good pet owners just because they are the only one you can let your anger out on.
