A malnourished senior dog, thin enough that his ribs, spine, and hips are easily visible, is at risk of being put down at a busy Texas animal shelter. The 10-year-old dog, dubbed Gramps, appears to have had a less than desirable life, and now it may end at the San Antonio city shelter.
On January 31, Gramps was posted to the SAPA Urgents & Adoptables Facebook page with a cautionary note that he was at risk of being put down:
THIS DOG IS IN ACS KENNELS & AT RISK OF BEING KILLED. SHELTER EVALUATES SPACE AT: 9:30am Mon-Sat, and again at 5pm Mon-Fri & 3pm Sat. Or at any time as space is needed.
Fast forward to February 4 – Gramps’s profile is still active, meaning that he has not yet been rescued or adopted. Thankfully, it means that he is still alive.
The photo of Gramps shows a dog with hopeful eyes – a dog who does not want his life to be cut short. Please help Gramps beat the odds that he is up against by sharing his information.
