In Saint Petersburg, Florida, Bunny McKnight of Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue, greeted Monday morning with a surprise.

Meet Mr. Bags. The little dog was handed over to Bunny in a plastic bag. A vehicle had pulled up next to her and spotted the Justice for Frosty signs on Bunny’s car and asked if she could help. Of course, the woman agreed, and just seconds later the passenger in the other vehicle handed over a plastic bag with the dog inside.

Bunny asked if the dog was alive or sick, and the other folks replied they didn’t know. At that same instant, out popped the dog’s head. Yes indeed he was alive.

Bunny took him out of the bag, gave the bag back to the other people in the vehicle, and off they went.

He is now getting checked out and starting his vet care. For him. I happened to be in the right place at the right time and the Justice for Frosty sign ensured his safety.

The Justice For Frosty campaign relates to 12 dogs that were dumped in a Largo park because they were sick with deadly parvo. They had been abandoned in a plastic storage bag on December 19, 2025. Frosty, one of the 12 dogs, was found two days later and taken in by Pawlicious Poochie Pet Rescue.

Frosty was rushed to Skyway Animal Hospital where he was found to be suffering from parvo, a broken leg, a dislocated jaw and internal injuries consistent with blunt force trauma abuse. Despite receiving veterinary care and a blood transfusion, Frosty passed away on December 30, 2025

A follow-up necropsy confirmed Frosty’s back leg had been snapped in half, and he had been the victim of abuse.

Those responsible face 12 felony animal cruelty charges each. According to the Change.org petition, the individuals alleged to be responsible, Maryann Gamble and Fred Gamble, were arrested and each charged with 12 counts of felony animal cruelty. During the investigation, other deceased dogs were discovered at their residence.

The rescue organization is calling for prosecution to the fullest extent of the law.
