The Surprise Fire-Medical Department administration is located in Surprise, Arizona, and some rescue situations are more unique than others. Take this challenging one from over the weekend; how in the world did a puppy get his head stuck in a car wheel?

A local veterinary clinic asked for help after a puppy got its head stuck in the center of a car’s wheel rim. According to firefighters, the puppy had been stuck for an extended period of time in the heat. When rescue personnel arrived, the puppy was reported to be in poor condition. After assessing the situation, Engine 301 determined specialized extrication equipment was needed and called in additional support.

A ladder company was called in. Working together, E301, E302, and LT332 crews safely freed the puppy.
Incidents like this highlight problem solving skills and teamwork with neighboring departments.

We are all glad to hear the puppy is going to be okay!
Cheers for one lucky puppy.
