At the Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue, two bonded puppies have been recovering after they were abandoned on the side of the road.

It had been on February 4, 2026, when the puppies were discovered by a Good Samaritan, who as he drove by, spotted the two sharing a bowl of spaghetti. The temperature outside had been 22 degrees Fahrenheit – much too cold for defenseless little girls for sure.

The kind stranger brought the puppies to work with him, and from there his coworkers reached out to Detroit Pit Crew Dog Rescue for assistance. When the puppies arrived, it was noted one had an infected abscess; the two were then transported for veterinary hospital care.

Sometimes we wished that our rescued dogs could talk and tell us their story, but then again maybe the heartbreak would be too much. Focusing on a better future for these girls is our priority. We can promise that they both have beautiful lives to look forward to far away from the tough streets of Detroit.
Because of their unusual meal of spaghetti the two had been left to eat after they were abandoned, they were aptly named Pasta and Ravioli.

Ravioli has since been treated for the abscess and is recovering well.
On Wednesday, the two puppies were transferred to A ReJoyceful Animal Rescue, and they will be available for adoption very soon.
These sweet girl have been vaccinated, dewormed, given heartworm preventatives, and they will be spayed and microchipped prior to adoption.
