Hundreds of dogs have been rescued during a major law enforcement investigation in North Texas on Wednesday. Named “Operation Fight Club” 207 dogs, guns, narcotics including cocaine, marijuana and fentanyl and dog fighting equipment was seized.

According to the Dallas Police Department social media posts, officers had executed search warrants “at dozens of locations”. The operation had been a collaborative effort between the Dallas Police Department, the Texas Department of Public Safety, the FBI, Dallas Animal Services, the ASPCA and Operation Kindness.

There has not been any information about the number of suspects charged in the sting as the investigation continues.

The ASPCA has transported 150 dogs to their recovery center in order to receive emergency care, behavior evaluations and shelter. The other dogs have been turned over to Dallas Animal Services. Some of the dogs, however may still be transferred to SPCA Texas for specialized care.

Neighbors, volunteers and rescuers can help by adopting or fostering other animals that are currently available for adoption at the municipal shelter. As of Thursday, the shelter’s dog kennels were at 136% capacity. To help, please click here.
