Yes, it’s almost the end of the week, but sometimes Thursday afternoons can drag along a bit, and maybe just maybe readers can search online for some happy news? Well, look no further; this is Tyson’s story, and his wish to be adopted has come true in the sweetest plot twist.

At the San Diego Humane Society, nine-year-old Tyson had been in foster care. Of course, Tyson didn’t know foster parents were generally the intermediaries providing the love and care until an adopter reached out. He thought he was home, and no doubt life was wonderful.

This morning Tyson was to be returned to the shelter because his foster parent had a plane ticket in hand, ready to go on vacation. Perhaps it had been the look on Tyson’s face as he stared up at the person he had already fallen in love with, or maybe it was his foster mom’s heart who had other plans.
Needless to say, Tyson the snuggle bug, bravely walked back into the shelter not understanding why his favorite person was leaving.
No doubt fate stepped in. Just hours later, the foster mom called the shelter staff back and said the tear-worthy words:
I can’t live without him.
And in one of the sweetest stories ever told at a shelter, this woman cancelled her trip and officially adopted Tyson.

As the shelter staff echoed in honor of Adopt A Shelter Pet Day…
Now, he’s got a permanent boarding pass to her couch — and to her heart.
