Heartbreaking: Only 2 tiny shepherd puppies survived after owner’s heartless action

This week, only two tiny puppies survived out of a litter of five from their owner’s abject cruelty. The Australian shepherd puppies had been born in rural Arkansas. For most of the litter however, their lives were over too soon.

North Texas Australian Shepherd Rescue stepped up and volunteered to help the moment an urgent appeal was received. No one knew if there were any surviving puppies, but it was all well-worth the efforts.

Please note that this story is very painful to tell, but two puppies now named Sully and Ralphie survived, but are in desperate need of expensive surgery and ongoing veterinary care. And according to the rescue’s Facebook page, it had been an unknown and cruel person who tossed the litter into a burn pile.

Two brothers, Ralphie & Sully, survived – but not without scars. Sully has a broken jaw. We are working to get them to NTX, Sully will need medical attention. No puppy deserves this. No soul deserves this.

Rescuers searched the pile of deceased puppies under sticks and in the thick brush. And there they were; First they found Sully; his brother Ralphie was under him. Both puppies cried out for help. Their heroes scooped them up into their arms. How long the surviving puppies had been there is not known.

The puppies were rushed to the emergency veterinary hospital where x-rays revealed Sully had a very painful broken jaw. His surgery is scheduled for this week. Ralphie was lucky; he didn’t suffer from any physical injuries, but who would be able to figure out how the trauma of this terrible experience has affected the puppies? After all, Sully and Ralphie witnessed their littermates perish.

Check out the video. WARNING: The video shows very graphic scenes and may not be suitable for all viewing audiences.

We are all here to help, and this organization needs your support. Here is what they are dealing with in expenses, but still found in in their hearts to volunteer and help Sully and Ralphie.

“Most weeks in rescue are tough. But this week? This week has been REALLY tough. This week has been brutal. Sully & Ralphie’s tragic story still lingers. Flint had complications from his neuter. We’re scrambling to secure fosters while juggling 81 foster dogs (and counting). Winnie Mae & Snow Angel are heartworm positive, and sweet corgis Willie & Oakley each lost 14 teeth from long-overdue dentals.

And then there’s Astro. This boy needs eye surgery—likely $3,000 per eye.

But here’s the kicker—our intake this month is already at 42 dogs (not including the incoming puppies). And on average, we’re getting at least 2 surrender forms every single day. The need never stops, and right now, we are stretched beyond our limits.”
