In Pompano Beach, Florida, a three year old mother dog had been shot near the neighborhood of Northeast 17th Court on Saturday night, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office.

Now named Sparkles, the friendly pup was found on the floor of a house and had been shot once. The heartbreaking incident was reported anonymously.
Sparkles is currently under the care of Deer Run Animal Hospital in Deerfield Beach and animal advocates from the I Heart Animal Rescue have asked for donations to help with her care.
As for her injuries, the bullet went through her shoulder and exited through her paw. It is possible she may ultimately lose her paw, although she is being kept comfortable. Sparkles arrived at the rescue organization with her two 11-month-old puppies who appeared malnourished and infested with parasites.

Meanwhile, a kind man has stepped forward and has offered to help put “the sparkle back into her eyes” and adopt her. And even while the dog had been in excruciating pain, Sparkles offered nothing but love.

Please help give Sparkles the chance she deserves. No amount is too small — every dollar goes directly toward her surgery, medical care, and recovery. Click here to help.
The Sheriff’s office’s Special Victims Unit has launched an investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
