A Chicago dog named Sugar Snap is getting a second chance at life thanks to the care and support of One Tail at a Time, a local animal rescue organization.

Sugar Snap was found in critical condition. He was severely malnourished and unable to stand on his own. Concerned citizens brought him to Chicago Animal Care and Control, where the seriousness of his situation became clear.

Yesterday we got a call about a severely emaciated dog found and brought into Chicago Animal Care and Control. He was assessed by their veterinary team and deemed ok to transfer out- but he was in dire need of emergency care.

Our team was able to get him out, rush him to the emergency vet, and get him started with treatment. We named him Sugar Snap, because he’s just the sweetest little string bean.

Sugar Snap is not able to stand or walk on his own at this time, but he is eating and was very interested in the food offered to him. A diagnosis has not been made at this time.
