Pet Rescue Report always tries to celebrate Sunday mornings with uplifting stories of rescued pets and exciting events. Well folks, today is another cool way to give our senior pets a boost, show them off in their prom finery and raise funds for their care. Welcome to Old Friends Senior Dog Sanctuary in Tennessee which cares for more than 100 dogs over the age of 10 and sponsors foster homes for another 500.

According to the organization’s website and the talents of photographer Mandy Whitley Photography, the April 5 event called the “Geezer Gala,” was attended by more than 200 guests (young and old alike) who enjoyed an evening with cocktails, great food, and a silent auction which included eight unique experiences and services. And for the best part – come on we all remember our proms – when the Prom King and Queen were crowned with the entire court of senior pups awarded prestigious titles.

All night dressed up pooches mingled with their caretakers among the smiling crowd. (How could anyone not smile?)

A huge and most heartfelt shoutout to the generous presenting sponsor Lulu’s Fund, golden sponsor Networks, table sponsors, and in-kind supporters for helping to make this event such a success! Whether you joined in person, participated in the silent auction online, or contributed to the fundraiser, these pups are sincerely and forever grateful for your support!

The funds will be used to help the organization foster out senior dogs and cover their veterinary expenses.

To the dogs!
