In Fulton County, Georgia, in one of the most heartbreaking situations animal rescuers from Angels Among Us Pet Rescue had ever witnessed, shared the news about the death of 11-week-old puppy, Elsie. The puppy had been brought to a veterinary hospital emergency room with severe burns.

According to the Alpharetta rescue organization, the small puppy had been given to a three-year-old child who either dunked the puppy in a pot of boiling water or poured it over her. The puppy’s owner then waited at least a week before bringing Elsie to a veterinarian for treatment.

Think and say the horrible things you want to say. Cry, cuss, send hatred, and then…… Come back!! Now, let’s save this poor, burned puppy. It only makes us feel good to be furious. The world is indeed a scary place. But now you are here.

Angels Rescue is here. Elsie has a long fight. Right now, we hope these burns don’t become seriously infected. She will need lots of bandage changes and vet appointments. Send a donation for her vetting, please. Share her story. Pray for her and her foster mom and veterinarians working to make her a healthy, happy puppy again.

Elsie was given the best of care and lots of love, but her tiny body was not strong enough to keep up with her will to survive. She started eating on her own and had been able to maintain her blood glucose level. She was getting frequent bandage changes to keep her clean and comfortable, and the small steps to recovery were greeted with smiles and hope.

Just two days later, Elsie needed a transfusion and her condition remained critical.

You see a precious puppy in an adorable pink bandage wrap. But we cannot unsee what is under that full body bandage. Horrible, painful burns. A red scalded body with patches of skin peeling off. Pain. Suffering.

Elsie died on Friday evening, and everyone had done their best to save her life.

It is not known if animal cruelty charges will be sought in connection to Elsie’s death.

Rest in peace Elsie. We are so sorry that humans failed you.
