Remember Snoopy? This seven-year-old pup has been at the Benton-Franklin Humane Society in Kennewick, Washington for more than 6500 days. The black and white mixed breed has medical problems involving his eyesight, hearing and weight associated with Cushing’s disease. Nevertheless, he’s perfect in his own way, and would love to become part of a loving family.

Snoopy is a 9-year-old senior pit bull who was originally found stray. He is a good boy who longs for a loving retirement home, but it must be the right home. For example, he needs to be the only pet in an adult household. He also has been diagnosed with Cushings disease and will require medication for the remainder of his life. We know that, for many, Snoopy’s needs are a tall order to fill.

Rest assured that – in the meantime — Snoopy has a home with us at BFHS where he will be loved and cared for until he is adopted.

Be patient Snoopy.

The clips, posted by shelter volunteer Julie Saraceno, a graphic designer and photographer are perfect. Viewers are brought to tears, and lots of emotions bring lots of attention; all good signs for Snoopy. And there he is lying in his kennel cage hunched over a blanket – his head resting quietly on the floor while the rest of the dogs can be heard barking in the background.

Yet Snoopy is still at the shelter waiting. Just three days ago, Julie posted more videos of the Staffordshire terrier, and he’s still not adopted! Here he is seen lying on a blanket holding one end of it with his paws and licking it with his mouth. It seems Snoopy does that same holding and sucking to his toys, and that’s just Snoopy and all the cuteness and goodness associated with this lonely pup patiently awaiting his own human to become part of his life.

Right now, the social isolation is weighing on Snoopy, and according to the shelter staff, Snoopy does this to “self soothe.”

“Find someone who loves you like Snoopy loves his blanket.”

“Snoopy is hoping today will be the day he goes home.”
