When Thanksgiving has that special message for one of our millions of shelter pups, it is surely the time to rejoice. A TikTok video clip broke our hearts this week after we watched a scared pup hugging the leg of a shelter worker.

His name is Andy Cohen, and he and his 35 friends arrived at Waldo’s Rescue Pen, on November 12 in New York from the Tift County Animal Shelter in Georgia, where the foster based organization partners with shelters throughout the United States and Puerto Rico to save the lives of dogs of all ages and breeds previously abandoned and neglected.

According to Newsweek, Andy Cohen’s previous owner surrendered him and his three dog roommates because his new job as a truck driver required him to be away from home for long periods of time. When the dogs arrived at the shelter, they all huddled together, and Andy Cohen really felt the pangs of separation as he hugged the worker’s leg so passionately while he whimpered and broke our hearts.

The good news is that Andy Cohen has since been adopted to a wonderful family, and this past weekend has gathered up his toys, food, bed and courage as he prepares himself for an amazing future.
