At the Nueces County Animal Services in Robstown, Texas, the kennels are full, and heartbreaking decisions have to be made unless volunteers and animal rescuers step up to foster and adopt some of the most wonderful dogs ever to be in need of homes.

Jack arrived at the shelter on February 28, and because he is frightened and has had little socialization, the shelter has placed him on top of the list to be euthanized – possibly scheduled for Monday to die.

When Jack arrived at the shelter, he was treated for an open wound on his ribs. He weighs almost 30 pounds. Upon arrival, Jack had no microchip, no tags and no collar. Maybe he escaped from his home or maybe his owners threw him away as if he was trash? Nevertheless, Jack needs to be rescued soon!

Meanwhile, this poor pup is just terrified. There are no familiar faces, no familiar smells, and the noises at the shelter are unlike any noises he has ever heard before entering the shelter. He is currently in need of dental work, ear cleaning, nail trimming and further treatment and assessment of his injuries.

Jack’s status is “URGENT” and he needs everyone to share his plight. For more information, call (361) 387-5701.
