At the Smith County Animal Control & Shelter in Tyler, Texas, it had become a sad reality of dogs having to be euthanized because of lack of space. In a plea for help, the shelter posted multiple pleas on social media for help:

Overcrowding in animal shelters is a local and national problem and it’s getting worse, forcing shelters to make hard decisions to make room for the never-ending influx of pets. Due to a high volume of animal intakes, euthanasia is likely in store for many dogs at the shelter.

We are at capacity here and we desperately are needing homes for all of our animals in the shelter. Listed are some of our longest residents that are in the most dire need of getting out.

It had been Zeppelin’s photo that caught the eyes of many animal advocates, and his plight quickly went viral. The Dogo Argentino mix has been a donor dog and likes adults. Sadly, he doesn’t do well with children or other dogs, so he must be placed as an only pet with adults.

Need we say more to readers asking everyone to check out the photo of Zeppelin’s rescue? Dogs sure do know when they have been rescued. Don’t you agree?

Update: ‘Ok everyone!!! Thank you so much for y’all’s concern!! A man has been approved!! I’m so glad!! Zeppelin has been saved!! I dreamed about him all night! HE IS SAFE’ ~ Nancy Sparkman
