What could be more heartbreaking than watching a dog’s bubbly personality change to a sullen looking sad face after having spent more than 430 days in an animal shelter without any adoption offers?

At the Sonoma County Animal Services in California, Ace had been an active and very cheerful pooch when he entered the shelter. Sadly, after all this time in the shelter, that precious look of excitement and hope finding someone to love him and fill his days with adventures and his nights with love, seem to have quieted down. Fortunately, Ace has lots of awesome volunteers and staff at the shelter to keep his spirits up until his dream comes true.

And so, here we are telling you more about this beautiful dog hoping he will garner even more attention and find that special person and home.

His recent TikTok video shows the comparison and how time has taken its toll on this very special and indeed beautiful dog:

Ace is still here! He is beyond ready to find his person. Ave loves swimming, talking, and treats. He is super smart and very Husky. He is a total goober that is a huge sweetheart. Ib: @AnimalHouseShelterHuntley #shelterdog #husky #huskytok #shelter #animals #dogs #adopt #rescuedog #animalshelter

His seven-second video has garnered more than 800,000 views, but this loving guy still is at the shelter.

“He’s energetic, vocal and has a unique personality. He knows basic commands and when you ask him to sit, he will, but he will sometimes provide a small howl before he does. Ace LOVES treats – he’s an expert at catching them in midair. He also really loves water, and you can almost always find him splashing around when he’s outside. From what we’ve seen, he does get along with other dogs. He loves to wrestle. Overall, he’s a very goofy and fun dog.”

Although no one has yet to invite Ace into their home, this sweet guy has been receiving fan mail. A young child wrote to Ace saying they came by our shelter when visiting the area and saw him. They wanted to say “hello!” and made him a little heart.

When Ace saw the fan mail, he loved it! He is so happy to have a new friend.

Ace is currently available for adoption! You can meet him during adoption hours 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

How cute is Ace?

Meet Ace! Ace is a swell guy who is looking for a home. He arrived to us as an owner surrender. Ace loves people, getting pets, and all that fun stuff! He solicits attention and is looking for a home that can teach him the basics. According to Ace’s previous home he had a hard time staying in his own yard and would sometimes go explore. We are recommending a breed experienced home for Ace and that he go to an adult only home. Although Ace is lovely, he will need somebody who can understand his stubborn ways. Ace is a true husky! He is vocal when meeting another dog, but is very tolerant and playful. *FREE ADOPTION! ADOPTION FEE HAS BEEN SPONSORED*
