UPDATE: Two of the puppies were able to be rescued and are safe. They will be heading to temporary foster as per social media updates. One of the puppies had been hit and killed on the road; his siblings were found lying next to his body. Another puppy was missing; likely had been the victim of a hungry coyote.

In a quickly growing city of Mission, located in Hidalgo County, Texas, rescuers and animal advocates alike, are truly heartbroken after a Good Samaritan spotted four puppies (possibly five puppies) abandoned in a field just two days before Christmas.

A rescuer writes;

Four babies have been abandoned to clean house for Christmas. While people celebrate, they [puppies]have been thrown out like garbage to make room.

The puppies were abandoned in a field where few people would ever be able to find them. Was this done on purpose too? Are people really this heartless knowing predatory animals would be roaming the area, and rescuers might never have even known these little ones ever existed?

Out in the middle of nowhere. People too cowardly to even kill them themselves. Just leaving them out as food for predators. To be terrified before dying?

These puppies urgently need rescue. Funds and a ride to an interested rescue in Ohio is currently being considered, but the puppies need a qualified foster home until they are able to be transported. Funds are currently being pledged, and the donations will be paid to the rescue once all arrangements have been made and the puppies are safe.
