By noon on Thursday, Flo will have already eaten her last meal unaware she would never see the sun again. She eagerly awaited breakfast, holding her empty bowl, and because she’s been the longest resident at the rural shelter in Nueces County, Texas, her time is up!

Sadly, Nueces County is now euthanizing for “length of stay.” Formerly, the shelter held adoptable dogs for an average of 12 to 15 days; now something has changed. And now due to her “excessive” length of stay and lack of interest, Flo’s life is about to end.

So what do we know about this adorable youngster? According to volunteers, Flo is super sweet, playful and friendly. She has a big personality and loves to greet everyone who comes into the shelter. It’s not her fault she doesn’t have a home; the shelter no longer follows the successful program for networking the dogs that worked so well for years.

Young, sweet, friendly, healthy dog to lose her life due to elimination of comprehensive full time live release program…

– now urgent & outta time

THIS DOG HAS BEEN THERE FOR MONTHS; the shelter’s lack of networking is the reason she now will be killed – NEED RESCUE TAG NOW…clock ticking.
