A reporter at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Nairobi, Kenya, was interrupted on camera by a baby elephant, and honestly, it doesn’t get any cuter – ever! The elephant stole the limelight from the young reporter as he tried his best to talk about the environmental impacts on wild elephants and how deforesting, hunting, poaching and loss of habitat have had devastating impacts on these magnificent animals.

Alvin Kaunda had been surrounded by several orphaned baby elephants when one of the elephants decided he wanted some attention.

at first i felt the elephant’s trunk’s contact on my back but decided to keep going because i was doing my almost 10th take of my piece to the camera. I wasn’t gonna let anything stop me.

As told to Storyful

So how does one control a playful baby elephant? One doesn’t! First the adorable baby moved his trunk along Alvin’s face and ear and then over the top of his head. And then, as if the moment couldn’t get any cuter, the elephant moves his trunk into the reporter’s mouth!

African elephants are endangered along with another species, African savannah elephants and both species are moving towards extinction.
