There will be little justice for a dog who was left in a parked car to die in Parma, Ohio, last summer. The husky’s owner, Kasey Wise, pleaded guilty to one count of cruelty to companion animals this week, and Judge Emily Hagan, with the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas, ordered her to intervention, allowing Wise to skip any time behind bars, reports Cleveland 19 News.

When the police and an animal control officer arrived at Wise’ residence last June, her husky was already dead in the backseat of her Kia sedan. Wise claimed that her car had been left running for the dog, but it had died at some point during the lengthy period of time that the dog was inside of the car alone. The animal control officer who responded with the police was livid after finding the dead dog in the car, and berated Wise and demanded that the woman be arrested.

Tearful Wise calling someone about being arrested for letting her dog die

According to KWTX, Wise has a lengthy court history, with 20 citations for animal-related violations, since September 2020.

  1. She locked her dog in the hot car as punishment and told the neighbor she didn’t care if the dog died and yet she gets no punishment.
