In Ireton, Iowa, the owners of two dogs, named Groot and Remy, are grateful to a UPS delivery driver for helping to save their beloved pets. Colin Mitchell had been on his route when he heard loud noises coming from a home while making his delivery.

According to WctvNews, Mitchell went around to the backyard and saw two dogs swimming in the above ground pool. The UPS driver tried to notify the homeowners, but no one responded, and he just didn’t feel comfortable leaving the dogs. And as he walked back to the pool to check on them, he realized the solar cover for the pool had trapped the dogs.

Mitchell was able to pull Groot and Remy to safety. He then returned to his route.

It’s not known exactly how long the dogs had been trapped in the pool, but had Mitchell not helped them out of the pool, the dogs would have been stuck in the pool for another three hours.

We are happy to report that Groot and Remy are doing fine. Many thanks to Colin for being an angel for those who cannot speak.
