Missouri – A Raytown animal shelter has provided a heartbreaking update about one of the three dogs who were stolen from the facility early Saturday morning. The Midwest Animal Resq said:

Many have asked for an update on this case. Unfortunately the only update I have is a heartbreaking. The female dog was found deceased in Leavenworth County last night.

There is a $5,000 reward offered by the rescue organization for the safe return of the other two dogs. According to the agency, no questions will be asked.

The rescue group advised the public that this is not a dogfighting case:

This was NOT a case of dog fighting, and please do not threaten anyone. While we understand how upset our community is, we will not stoop to the same level as these criminals
