Police in Kilgore, Texas apprehended a “reckless driver” on Thursday at a local Walmart parking lot. The “driver” crashed into two cars, and now imagine everyone’s chagrin when police officers discovered it was actually a dog behind the wheel.

According to the Kilgore Police Department’s Facebook page, an eyewitness “saw the suspect barreling down on him but couldn’t get out of the way.” The eyewitness was “shocked” to later find out it was actually a dog behind the wheel.

And it was the dog behind the wheel when the crash occurred, and he had been sitting in the unoccupied vehicle waiting for his family to return. So… when the pooch became anxious about being alone, he started getting active around the cab of the truck and pushed the vehicle in motion. The steering column had already been damaged, and it must have easily slid into the drive position. At the same time, the dog’s leash became entangled on the emergency brake and released it.

He certainly had a guilty look on his face.
