This week, a Tennessee animal shelter has taken in “oodles of doodles” from a puppy mill. The Nashville Humane Society explained that 45 “doodles” arrived at their shelter facility on Sunday. The dogs came from a puppy mill breeding operation in Indiana.

On Monday morning, the animal welfare agency explained that while the dogs are undeniably cute, they are in need of some tender loving care:

Yes, they’re adorable. But most of these guys have never interacted with a leash, or likely had much positive human interaction. They don’t know it, but all of these loving, caring people are here to help. The worst part of their stories are over now. The page has been turned.
Today, each of the 45 pups will get a full medical workup from our amazing veterinary team. They’re already being showered with love and attention from the team.

On Tuesday, staff and volunteers worked round-the-clock to bathe and groom the dogs.

People are anxious to adopt one of the pups, but the shelter has stated that they do not expect adoptions to start until after Labor Day.
