At the Homeward Animal Shelter in North Dakota, two senior pit bulls, available for adoption together, married this week in a celebration that included flowers, a wedding cake decorated with dog bones and of course their canine friends.

Fran & Earl would like to invite everyone to join them for their wedding reception at the 32nd Annual PAWS WALK on Tuesday, July 19th at Rheault Farm. In lieu of wedding gifts, Fran & Earl would love it if you would make a donation in their honor to the 32nd Annual PAWS WALK to help all their friends at the shelter who are also waiting for their forever families to find them.

Labeled as the “pup-tuals,” the ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Northern Plains Botanic Garden Society in Fargo – the couple dressed in usual bride and groom attire. And just to be sure everything was “legal beagle” (sort of), a marriage certificate with their paw prints was issued.
The couple just couldn’t wait any longer, so the ceremony took place on July 12. The reception will follow.
Now of course, everyone wants to know how Fran and Earl met and was it love at first sight? It seems they lived together at the shelter after their owner could no longer care for them. On Fran’s bio on the shelter’s website, Earl is called her “one true love,” adding that the two “both enjoy frequent snuggles and sleeping in every morning!” Earl’s bio notes that he enjoys “short walks and long naps with my sweetheart, Fran.”
They’re currently in a foster home together while they await someone adopting them permanently.
