Massachusetts – On Wednesday, the Animal Rescue League of Boston said that a severely burned dog was abandoned alongside Route 1 in Norwood. The animal welfare agency said that the year-old dog, dubbed Annie, is suffering from “awful second-degree burns on her head and body.”

Annie is receiving intensive veterinary care for her burns, but she has a “long road” to recovery.

As reported by WCVB News, Annie was wearing a leash and collar, but she does not have a microchip or identification tags. Aside from the extensive burns, her fur was “surprisingly” clean.
