Heartbroken shelter reports dog’s fourth adoption return

On Thursday, a Virginia animal shelter expressed heartbreak after a dog was returned for the fourth time. According to the Greene County Animal Shelter, Snuffy (who they refer to as an “amazing dog”), came back to the shelter because too many small cats and dogs lived near his adopter’s home and it made walking him “too hard.”

The shelter explains:

This is Snuffy’s fourth adoption return…… Snuffy truly is an amazing dog, but can’t seem to find the family who can handle everything about him. Snuffy was returned due to the location he went to with too many small dogs and cats around, which made it difficult to walk him as he would pull. The family felt it wasn’t the best environment for Snuffy and it was stressing him too much.

Snuffy’s original owner kept him outside in poor conditions and he was taken in at the shelter because those living conditions were so bad. The shelter acknowledges that Snuffy needs “some training,” and they point out that he is quite strong. But someone out there certainly has what it takes to help Snuffy succeed. The shelter has requested help to find the perfect home for Snuffy:

Snuffy is around 5yrs old. Snuffy truly needs everyone to take time in their day to share him in hopes he finds a family that can love him forever. Snuffy just needs someone who has the time and patience he so desperately needs. Snuffy absolutely loves shelter life, but we know he deserves so much more. Help Snuffy find someone!!
